Recovering Digital Evidence: Computer Forensics, Social Networking and Cell Phones

Our digital world has expanded significantly. At one time, our digital footprint was contained within a desktop computer located in our home or office. Now in addition to desktop and laptop computers, our lives are documented within our cell phones, as well as our online social activities and communications. Business and personal data are now stored by third-party vendors in on-line storage sites.

With this expansion of our digital footprint, new responsibilities have arrived regarding preservation, analysis and production of a much broader range of data. How do push back claims of incomplete production? Spoliation? Is it possible to collect this material in a cost-effective manner?

This program will address those questions and will provide answers to many more.

Location: UMKC School of Law, E.E. “Tom” Thompson Courtroom,500 E 52nd Street, Kansas City, MO 64110
